On July 10, Actress Chae Jung-an appeared on the channel “Mibji Aneun Gwanjong Unnie” in a video titled “Eternal Beauty Chae Jung-an’s Luxury Hannam Home Tour.” During the episode, she had an intimate conversation with singer Lee Ji-hye about her beloved dogs.

Chae revealed that her two previous dogs, Jerome and Bobby, who she considered her “children,” passed away at the ages of 20 and 16, respectively. “They were like my kids. Losing them was incredibly painful,” she shared, visibly emotional. Lee Ji-hye responded with sympathy, calling it “a true heartbreak.”

After losing Jerome and Bobby, Chae adopted two new dogs to fill the void in her heart. Interestingly, she recalled, “Jerome seemed very ill, and I thought he would leave soon. But after I brought home the new dogs, Jerome lived for two more years.” Her love and care for her pets remain profound.

Currently, her dogs are attending dog kindergarten, which she described as being as intense as an entrance exam for a 7-year-old child. “Even dog kindergartens require admission tests,” she said. Chae also shared that she even hired private trainers for her pets, paying 100,000 KRW (approx. $73) per hour for multiple sessions to ensure their development and behavior training. “It’s like entrance exam prep for dogs,” Lee Ji-hye exclaimed, amazed by Chae’s dedication.

Chae Jung-an, who divorced in 2007 after two years of marriage, has since been enjoying life as a single woman. Though she doesn’t have human children, her love and care for her pets speak volumes about her nurturing spirit.
